Hi, im from a local homeless shelter, were we have been living under the railroad. I come here everyday and sleep on the roof, the coffee has a bitter taste to it that smells kinda like pee but i doubt they pee in it, also the smell of the place smells like the dump i work at recycling trash.
I also have hard time eating because their utensils are plastic and they break when i use them, The pancake taste like grass mixed with aluminum.
I reccomend if u neeed a place to sleep then come join me on the roof.

When i walked into the store the clown on the wall looked at me and blinked. I was greeted by a short man aand he told me his name was brian peppers and his eye was focused on my genitals.
when i got a table i was sitting on gum and their was bird poop all over the table, when the waiter came it was a 9 year old screechy kid.
He poured coffee in my cup but the cups were yellow on the inside and the coffee had nasty green swirls in it. when i was in the bathroom their was shit everywhere literally!
when the pancakes came their was holes in them and the syrup was expired.
when i left I saw onc of the employees tried to grab my child and give him date drugs and they were bout to whip my kid. i leeft with my son and we came back to our safe home, never come here ever or u will regret and waste ur time.

I have been coming here for years and have never been able to finish the pancakes as they are huge. The eggs are okay but go there for the pancakes and you will keep coming back. I see some of the kings basketball players there sometimes too.

This is the best restaurant ever. of all time, ever. the waitresses have been working there since its opening it seems like, and they are my heroes. The food is great, and the decor....you have to see to believe.

Try getting hefty portions of Steak and eggs, with 4 huge perfectly made pancakes, and free-refill hot chocolate with the whip cream piled on for around 8 bucks anywhere else! You must make the Pancake Circus a weekly stop if you live within an hour of downtown Sacramento. River City residents be advised: the Pancake Circus is the in place to be, and if you haven't paid it a visit yet, you are just not with the times.

If you like your eggs to taste like semen, then okay. The griddy greasy spoon concept is nice, but it's the place you bring your unwanted relatives to give 'em an authentic Sacto feel and scare them from coming back to visit.

There was a fuzzy greezzzy film on most surfaces and a slightly disturbing crazy clown theam to the decor. Food was 1960's truck stop fare. My meal was dry due to the extended amount of time it spent under the large red ultra violet warming lamps. My waitress was missing most of the time and the coffee tasted about 4 days old.

The Circus has gone downhill quite a bit since the old owner "Bill" sold it. Pancakes aren't the same anymore and now the hours are only 6AM to 3PM and quality is declining.
Has anyone else experienced this tragedy of a once great breakfast joint?

The breakfast standard. Anyone who knows breakfast in Sacramento will tell you that Pancake Circus is serious breakfast. The waitresses are attentive and know how to get you in and out! Awesome!!!

All the times I've been there, there's never been a wait for the counter. Sac PD and UPS drivers eat there so the food has got to be good, and it is. Get the 4 hotcakes and they give you 2 huge scoops of real butter and all the syrup you could want. I don't how they make perfect cakes but they do. Just go there and try them-you won't find any better. Food is always HOT and service is fast and pleasant. I've been a frequent customer for years and if I lived closer I'd weigh 20 pounds more than I do now. They have funny hours though, 6am to 1015pm(not 10pm or 1030pm, but 1015pm!!) and that includes holidays. Says so right on the front door. Now, go eat!

This place is awesome. Your coffee cup is always full, you get food in a matter of minutes after you order it. The food is always cooked exactly how you want it, the only downside is that there may be a bit of a wait to get seated.
