I lived in Boulder for several years and the Village Coffee Shop was a regular stop for our family. Great breakfasts and if you tell the waitress that you've brought a newcomer (Village Virgin) to the restaurant, they give a very nice (and loud) Hello! to the newbie.

I liked the Village Coffee Shop for a long time but with the place getting more busy the quality of the service went down. One day there was a big bug in my breakfast. Frankly, this looked like a cockroach. The waitress came to my table, looked at it an offered me a new breakfast. No thanks, I replied, and never returned.

sitting at the counter was enjoyable people watching and the guys at the grill really know how to get orders out.

Bring a big appetite if you order the pancakes - they are each almost as big as a frisbie.
