Is your idea of breakfast a waffle with ice cream and cantelope? That was my wife's idea of breakfast.

She loved it. She was afraid the cantelope would be the hard, immature slices often encountered in salad bars. In fact the choice of cantelope was forced on her because the supply of strawberries had run out. It turned out very well. The melon was at the peak of perfection in ripeness.

I had the prosaic bacon and eggs which was - well - prosaic.

This is not a classic railroad car diner nor just a small greasy spoon. It is a 24-hour restaurant with a well-stocked liquor cabinet and extensive menu for the later arrivals.

We highly recommend this place but it has one glaring flaw. You have to know what it is. The neon sign says only "DINER."
