Lemonade Wake-up Call
(2 servings)
- 1 cup lemonade
-
1/2 cup plain or lemon yogurt
-
3/4 cup fresh or frozen pineapple chunks
-
1/2 cup pineapple sherbet
-
3 or 4 large icecubes
This one is called a wake-up call because the burst of citrus from the lemonade, well, wakes you up. I actually prefer orange sherbet or vanilla ice cream to the pineapple sherbet in this recipe. The pineapple chunks deliver plenty of pineapple flavor so it's better to augment that with another citrus flavor or some creamy vanilla. The sherbet component can be left out completely and this is still quite good. For my smoothie, I used lemonade from Natalie's Orchid Island Juice Company and Lemon Cream Pie flavored yogurt from Yoplait. One cool aspect of this smoothie is that it kind of looks like lemonade. Then when you take a sip, you taste lemonade and get blasted with a bunch of other delightful flavors. (Recipe submitted in 2004. It was tested and photographed in December 2013.)
How To Make A Lemonade Wake-up Call Smoothie
Place all ingredients in the blender and blend until smooth.
You can also make a great orange-pineapple smoothie by replacing the lemonade with orange juice and using plain yogurt.
This always makes me feel more awake. Something about the taste and smell of lemon stimulates the senses.
Mr Breakfast would like to thank tommy for this recipe.
