Citrus Smoothie

- 1/2 cup orange juice

1/2 cup grapefruit juice
-
4 or 5 frozen strawberries

2 ice cubes
This is more of a deluxe icy fruit juice cocktail than a smoothie, per say. Instead of a uniform texture throughout, you get a refreshing mostly-strawberry froth on top and then a delightful citrus explosion sneaks into your mouth through the foam. If you want a more uniform smoothie-like texture, I'd recommend adding a banana or a small carton of plain yogurt. I used fresh grapefruit and orange juice from Natalie's Orchard Island Juice Company... awesome juices if you can find them. (Recipe was submitted in 2007. It was tested and photographed in December 2013.)
How To Make A Citrus Smoothie
Combine all of the ingredients in your blender.
Pulse until smooth.
That's it.
Pour in a big glass and enjoy.
This is the breakfast version. For a snack, I also add a couple Tablespoons of vanilla icecream. Mmmmm... I feel like having a snack!
