Eggs With Microwave Cheese Sauce
(3 servings)
- 3 large eggs
-
1/3 cup shredded Cheddar cheese
-
1 Tablespoon milk
-
bacon bits (like Bac-Os) for topping
-
salt and pepper - to taste
I have to admit that I liked this crazy recipe. It was submitted to the site by 'natalie1998' back in 2008. It took me a while to test it, mostly because I rarely have bacon bits on hand. The microwave cheese sauce was incredibly easy, smooth and, above all, cheesy. The bacon bits are no replacement for real bacon, but they did lend a sort of welcome bacon seasoning to the dish. Given the choice, I prefer scrambled eggs with cheese melted on the eggs and I'll always opt for real bacon, but for a quick, quirky, satisfying breakfast, I give this goofy recipe a thumbs-up. (This recipe was tested and photographed in August 2014.)
How To Make Scrambled Eggs With Microwave Cheese Sauce
In a small bowl, beat the eggs with salt and pepper with a fork just until the whites and yolks are blended.
Place a frying pan over medium-high heat. Spray with cooking spray or melt 2 teaspoons of butter.
Pour eggs into the frying pan and scramble until the eggs are set.
In a microwave-safe bowl, combine the cheese and milk. Microwave on high for about 45 seconds, stirring after every 15 seconds, until it has a sauce-like consistency.
Plate the scrambled eggs, pour on the cheese sauce. Top the cheese with bacon bits. Enjoy!
This is quick and simple scrambled eggs topped with a mega-fast cheese sauce and bacon bits. I've gotten to where I can make everything in 5 minutes.
