Rice Krispies Treats

(12 servings)

  • 3 Tablespoons butter or margarine
  • 1 10-ounce package of marshmallows - regular or mini
  • 6 cups Rice Krispies cereal
In a large sauce pan over low heat, melt the butter or margarine. Add the marshmallows and stir until they are completely melted. Add the Rice Krispies and stir until they are completely coated.

Spray the inside of a 13 x 9 baking pan with cooking spray. Transfer the Rice Krispies mixture to the baking pan and press the ingredients down with a spatula to make an even layer.

Allow treats to cool at least 30 minutes. Cut into squares and serve. Stores well in an air-tight container for up to 5 days.


Not really a breakfast recipe, but thought you might like a recipe that uses breakfast cereal. This is the tried and true Rice Krispies Treats recipe that's been handed down for decades. Only three ingredients and no baking.
