Harbour Island Banana Bread

- 3 cups all purpose flour

1 1/2 cups white sugar

1 Tablespoon baking soda

1/2 cup butter

1 teaspoon salt

1 teaspoon cinnamon

1 teaspoon nutmeg

5 very ripe bananas - mashed

1/3 cup buttermilk
-
1 egg
-
1/4 cup chopped walnuts or pecans
Mix together top seven ingredients. Add mashed bananas and mix well for five minutes. Pour into two 8" loaf pans or one 10" bundt cake pan well greased. Top with nuts. Bake at 350 degrees for 40 minutes.
Note From Mr Breakfast:
The recipe submitter left out a step. Based on similar recipes, I would suggest... Mix the dry ingredients. Beat the egg with the buttermilk. Add the milk mixture to the dry mixture and mix with a spatula until just combined. Fold in the mashed banana and then proceed as stated.
