Heavenly Hot Chocolate (From Scratch) (1 serving) 1 cup whole milk 1/2 cup heavy cream 1/4 cup sugar 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract whipped cream - for topping freshly grated chocolate shavings - for garnish cinnamon - optional In a sauce pan over high heat, whisk together the milk, heavy cream and sugar. Bring mixture to a near-boil (if it starts to boil, reduce heat slightly). Add the chocolate chips and whisk until the chocolate is completely melted. Stir in the vanilla extract. Pour hot chocolate into your favorite mug. Top with whipped cream and chocolate shavings. If desired, a tiny pinch of cinnamon is a perfect final touch. Enjoy!
