If you want an ultra-fast breakfast that also satisfies your sweet tooth and craving for chocolate, you just found it. This recipe takes two minutes. Presto! Your hot breakfast is ready before you can take your first sip of coffee. The submitter of this recipe found a perfect balance between the cocoa powder and the sugar. I was amazed that it was so satisfying with just 1 Tablespoon of sugar. You'll especially love this dish with some fresh strawberries or raspberries. (This recipe was submitted in September 2014. It was tested and photographed in October 2014.)
How To Make Hot Chocolate Oatmeal (In The Microwave)
Put oats, water, milk, and salt in a microwave safe bowl. Heat for 1 to 2 minutes (depending on your microwave speed).
Remove, and add sugar, cocoa, and vanilla. Stir well so that the ingredients are thoroughly blended. Heat for additional 30 second intervals, if necessary, stirring after each one until the oatmeal is thickened as desired.
After many attempts at creating a decent chocolate oatmeal, this one actually worked. If you've ever tried adding hot chocolate mix to oatmeal, only to find the lack of flavor disappointing, this recipe is for you!
