Blackberry Kolaches

- 2 cups milk

1 large egg

4 Tablespoons butter

1/2 cup sugar

1 Tablespoon salt

2 packages instant yeast

6 cups all-purpose flour

1 jar blackberry jam or preserves
Scald 2 cups milk, add butter. In mixing bowl, lightly scramble egg, add sugar and salt. Pour in milk, cool to lukewarm. Add yeast, gradually add flour. Knead until smooth; cover and let rise until doubled (1 Hour).
Roll into 2 inch balls and place 1 inch apart on baking sheet. Cover and let rise for 30 minutes. Create depression in middle of roll; place 1 tbsp blackberry preserves in hollow. Bake at 350 F for 15 to 20 minutes.
Makes 36 rolls. You could use this recipe to make countless kinds of Kolache - just change the preserves you use.
