This oatmeal is amazing! I even messed up a little... Oops. I didn't have maple syrup and I'm to stubborn for directions. Regardless, it turned out great!

I tried it with 2 teaspoons of private selection pure dark amber maple syrup and milk in place of water and it was amazing. Me and my daughter shared a serving. The sweetness was spot on perfect. I find the packet oatmeal to be a little too sweet for my taste. My 19 month old is very picky and even she liked it. She started fussing and crying for more after the first bite.

I just made this and it is delicious. It reminds me of when I was little. I mean, sure I like mine with a little more brown sugar and syrup but it's great!

Much better than the packets! Be sure to drizzle just a little more syrup on at the very end for the ultimate flavor. Great!

This is a really nice recipe. I add a pat of butter in the end and an extra sprinkle of brown sugar. It's almost as easy and quite a bit better than oatmeal from packets.

Really yummy! The only thing I'd do differently next time is to reduce the water to 3/4 cup. It was a little more watery than I usually like.

It just means you might like it with a little butter and milk added after the oatmeal is ready.

"Serve with a pat of butter and a splash of milk."...? Can someone please clarify what this means?

Ah I tried this recipe off the top of my head the other day and liked it, tonight I am trying this recipe, and measuring instead of playing by eye. I'm sure it will turn out fine, glad to have some measurements to go off of for now on. It's easy to make more then one serving, just multiply and remember 3 tsp = 1 tbs.

My kids and I LOVED this one... I did change the cooking time though, could be my microwave? I started out 60 (not 90) seconds in the microwave, then added ingredients then 45 (not 60) seconds, otherwise it turned out way too thick, I wish it came to serve 4 or something cause I have 7 in my family and this takes some time, but oh well, it was delish... am looking forward to trying out other recipes, we all need more oatmeal!

if you like it just as sugary sweet a the packets i'd recomend one more teaspoon or so of the brown sugar and maple syrup - otherwise good job^.^
