This nationally known, but definitely not fancy, restaurant serves this meal only on Sundays (10:30 to 2) and calls it brunch.
However, it not one of those lavish buffets that seem more like dinner,so I'll call it breakfast. Besides barbeque, burgers, an oyster po'boy and their signature shrimp and grits, they serve four wonderful breakfast dishes and great coffee. We had Featherbed Eggs (as light and airy as they sound). It's sort of a crustless quiche made with sausage, peppers, onions, mushrooms and Swiss cheese topped with salsa and served with applesauce, grits and a BIG light biscuit. That same biscuit becomes a breakfast when topped with sausage gravy, scrambled egg, cheddar and scallions.
Real maple syrup accompanies their buttermilk pancakes and they serve up an excellent Creole omelette with Andouille sausage as an extra.
