It's a French provincial cafe with wooden tables, cushioned straight-backed chairs, bouquets of live sunflowers, wine bottles on display. It's cafeteria style, but otherwise, it's the place where Snoopy quaffs rootbeer while cursing the Red Baron. Smoking is allowed on the patio, only.
The breakfast special, for 5.75, consists of sausage or bacon, scrambled eggs, big chunks of fried potatoes, a hunk of baguette or slice of 8-grain bread and jam, and coffee. They also have several kinds of quiche, omelettes to order, and a fantastic array of French pastries, real fruit tortes, cakes, and homemade breads. You are given a smallish coffee cup, and you help yourself repeatedly to pots of French or Colombian roast, regular or decaf. Today's special was some kind of cappuccino. There is a blackboard listing 17 kinds of tea. It's loose tea (no teabags here!) served in a kind of plunger machine that's fun to play with.
The owner of this shop really is French, though the employees are kids who took French in school.
