On Wednesday 26 Oct. 2005 I was driving home to Georgia from North Carolina on I-95 and about noon stopped for lunch at the Huddle House. I use Huddle House restaurants often, especially the one on Hwy 84 at I-95 Exit 76 and find them very good. At the one I used last Wednesday I sat at the counter and in a few minutes ordered a Turkey Club sandwich and coffee. The coffee was served and was okay. I then sat there for 20 to 25 minutes with no further service and no refill. I saw a sandwich that looked like my order sitting on the counter near the toasters for about 10 minutes and finally got up and told the manager who was at the cash register that I would pay for the coffee and cancel the order for the sandwich which I said would be cold. She nastily and aggressively told me that it was not my sandwich as they had not started mine yet. I gave her a dollar for the coffee and started to leave when she loudly shouted, "Take your coffee and have a good day." She meant to tell me to shove my coffee where the sun does not shine. The entire restaurant was slovenly, the waitresses were inattentive, the manager was an obese slovenly moon-faced woman with a nasty attitude. I will make sure not to stop there again and will relay the story the next time my coffee club meets on each Monday morning. It is an indictment of your chain of restaurants and should be visited by an inspector on an unannounced visit. The appearance of the place and lack of courtesy by the manager is not good for your company. I am not exaggerating when I say it is the worst experience I have ever had at any restaurant.
