Toughest to rate of any diner we have been in.

The menu is very large and inventive, the prices very low, the service great, the people friendly, the crowds large. Very large portions are served.

I got the Gut Bustin Bronco for 4.99. They weren't just joshing with a couple of eggs, bacon and sausage, toast, choice of hash browns or country fries with coffee included. My wife's Saddle Sore for the same price had two huge pancakes. Those pancakes were great according to a very particular lady.

Now for the bad news.

The potatoes this time of year just aren't good with the new potatoes due out soon. The potatoes weren't all that bad, certainly not as bad as average, but not too great either. What was bad were my wife's scrambled eggs. The chef used water to make the scrambled eggs. And they were tasteless. Really tasteless.

Understand the food was good and plentiful and yet those eggs... One might worry some about ordering an omelet.

We will be back for sure. We liked very much a rather ordinary looking free-standing diner with a wonderful staff that understandably draws large crowds but some things you might not want to order.

Just a thought.
