Mark's is my regular breakfast date place with my girlfriend. It is a busy, locals'-type joint, with long-suffering but very sweet waitstaff (they're pretty busy and hence pretty lousy at coffee refills) and an abundant menu. Have standard fare, like pancakes, eggs, and grits; or go for the hippy-crunchy spinach-tofucake (kinda bland, so ask for the special soy-sauce extra). Fresh-squeezed juices and the impressive fruit salad round out a healthy, but not too healthy menu. Mark's turns into a Korean-Japanese fusion place for lunch and dinner, and I can't say I've ever tried its later-in-the-day offerings. I'm usually too stuffed from breakfast. If you're there on a weekend, expect to wait. I meant it when I said it's popular with locals.
