They serve lunch here, too, but breakfast is what it's all about. Get here before 10:00 a.m. because the church crowds love it, and there are several in the area. My absolute fave: one of the "Basic" Breakfasts with chicken-apple sausage... grilled to perfection (split) with Oakland's best HOME FRIES (I ask to have them diced up a little smaller and with more green onion, and -- voila! -- there they are!), and they cook my eggs to order even though I like 'em weird... X-tra well done. Servers are good, though they revolve ranks sometimes, but always fill my iced tea when I need it. Once you get the same server consistently, she even knows how I want my eggs and what kind of toast I want. Try this place, you won't be disappointed. The menu isn't voluminous, but has all the down-home basics you'd expect of a '60's type of place... nothing fancy, and that's the way breakfast should be.
