"Family" doesn't really describe Heirloom. "Neighborhood," "eclectic clientele," and "chaotic" are really better. There are tables inside and out, and inside tends to be a little deafening, so go there when it's warm and you can sit outside. You get in line to order, then the food is brought to your table. You go back for coffee refills yourself. Some of the dishes are excellent and some are just so-so, so try to go with someone who's been there before. When your food is delivered, do a visual check for completeness, because the wait staff is harried and they won't know (that's the chaotic part).
