I've stayed at various hotels while in Philly for business, and the best breakfast at a hotel restaurant is the Chez Colette in the Sofitel. I also reviewed the Morning Glory Cafe and this restaurant is definitely a contrast to that one, although both are excellent.
The Chez Colette, as assumed by the name, has a French flair to it. The coffee comes in its own glass "pot" which is brought to the table. It is pretty strong. The menu has a great variety of dishes: eggs benedict, salmon omelette, crepes, and some great fruit dishes. The prices are not cheap, but are reasonable for the excellent quality of the food. The decor is much more upscale than the Morning Glory, but the service is very attentive and friendy. I will return here whether I am staying at the Sofitel or not.
