Sam's is a survivor from the days when downtown Champaign was seedy and empty. Sam works the grill most mornings with a couple of people taking orders and refilling coffee. Despite the look of the place the food is fantastic. I'm a big fan of Sam's french toast -- which is kind of a hybrid between a pancake and french toast.
