We're from Indiana and try to avoid corporate food when away from home. Carol's Cafe was the kind of place that makes my wife nervous. It's not the cleanest place and it's smoky smelling inside, but the food was very good. We stopped there for breakfast, and I thought it was very good. Definite greasy spoon, but good food.
