After a recent neighboring fire in about early mid 1990, Uptown Restaurant reopened. Actually there wasn't much change in the remodeling while closed.

The menu items offered are standard patron choices they do not try to be something anything more than a decent eatery.

The waitresses are quick and food is served fast and hot. Coffee is brought by acknowledging the waitress or a wave of the hand. I have never saw any one here pouring their own or others coffee.

Seating is ample and the tables are not attached to the floor so "rounder" people can slide the table for comfort.

Although the patrons tend to talk to the waitresses, staff cooks and each other employees seems to stay on track and not get lost with just certain customers.

I, personally have had many of the breakfast items, along with over the course of years lunch and early dinner choices.

None of the food is "5 star chef" nor does it try to be. It is however good delicious food from its aromas to the tastes, I found little if anything lacking.

I have not found an item that has made me question if I was being served something previously frozen. From the salads and soups to the meats. I think the Uptown has a plate that will hook you into wanting to return for the food. Conversations and staff are the added benefits for your visits.
