Can't believe there have never been any reviews of this place, and can't believe we have been driving by this place for at least 30 some years without going in. Our very friendly waiter highly recommended the pancakes "with a special ingredient" (never could figure it out). Have to say, they were great, and we would not hesitate to order them again! The food and service were wonderful, just wish the coffee was more than average, but at least they kept it coming.

Large portions, very tasty, eggs were cooked just as ordered, and great hash browns. This place is obviously a very popular local favorite, very busy busy busy! I can never pass by an opportunity to try a chicken fried steak. This one was nicely tenderized and hand breaded (no prefab stuff here), and a creamy sausage gravy. My personal favorite CFS is at another nearby place, Johnny Rebs in Orange, but this was a good second choice. Hubby had one of the specials, a grilled tri tip with BBQ sauce (and eggs). While he did not care for the sauce, I tasted it and did like it. So much for personal taste. The menu and specials were nicely varied and everyone seemed to enjoy their meal experience. Really loved our attentive server and all the hard-working staff. Made us feel very welcome. We would definitly go back.
Oh yes, there is an old fashioned Vegas style "lounge" area with fireplace, bar, TV, and yes Keno cards. Very nostalgic of the 50's-60's era. You can eat on that side too.
