If you've never experienced a Chinese restaurant that serves dim sum, give this a try. On the weekends, it is packed with folks who know that dim sum is breakfast sublime. A total ethnic experience, with little ladies pushing around carts of Chinese "tapas" to each table. You point to choose, and pay by the plate, a couple of dollars each, for some really tasty nuggets of "melt in your mouth goodness" as some die-hard foodies would say. Try the steamed and baked bows (chicken or pork BBQ inside a great bun). The fried butterflied shrimp with a delicate mayonnaise sauce is absolutely a must. So is the har gow (shrimp wrapped in a delicately steamed rice pastry). Don't leave without trying the tiny egg custard tarts for dessert. There is a lot to choose from, so be adventurous. You will be surprised. You can also order from the regular menu, but why bother? This is not the only dim sum restaurant in So Cal, but a great place to test your tastebuds, and reliably good.
