This was my first visit to Uncle John's, primarily because my husband had one of the free breakfast coupons from giving blood earlier this year. I wish I had remembered to try the chocolate pancakes!

The hubby and I both got omlettes-I got the sausage & cheese with the John's potatoes (thin sliced, browned fried potatoes, smothered with cheese-they usually come with green peppers & onions also, I skipped those) & pancakes. Hubby got the Cajun omlette, also with the potatoes & pancakes.

Since I'm used to the omlettes at Reynolds Garden, I couldn't help comparing them & found Uncle John's lacking in these. The omlette at UJ's was greasy, didn't have a lot of meat to it and was pretty bland tasting. The pancakes were good, but nothing exceptional.

However, I do HIGHLY recommend the UJ potatoes, with or w/o the peppers & onions (whatever you prefer). These had a wonderful flavor & were just slightly crispy w/o being overly greasy. Give them a try next time!

Overall, it wasn't a bad place, good service, interesting decor and a lot of other things on the menu to try instead of the omlettes. I'll be back!
