Baked Raisin French Toast
(7 servings) Printable Version
- 1 loaf good-quality raisin bread
- 3 large eggs
- 1/4 cup brown sugar
- 1/4 cup butter
- 2 and 1/2 cups half-n-half or heavy cream
- 1/2 teaspoon vanilla
Cook in 350 degree oven for 45 minutes, uncover and cook for another 15. Dish will puff up and then fall. Serve inverted with whipped cream.
The quality of the bread makes all the difference in this recipe so be sure to get a good one. Day-old bread works best, so check your bakery's about-to-expire discount shelf.

I made this for Christmas morning breakfast ,it was so easy and it tasted great! I made it again for my coworkers and one with raisin bread and one with italian raisin bread. Everyone one loved it!

Just had this on March 22 at a Ladies Bible Study. Very good. The perfect thing to start Easter Morning with my 11 grandhildren. Leah K
