Raisin & Brown Sugar Instant Oatmeal Mix

- 1 one-quart jar
- 3 cups quick-cooking oatmeal
- 1/3 cup brown sugar
- 2 Tablespoons dry milk powder
- 1 teaspoon cinnamon
- 3/4 teaspoon salt
- 3/4 cup raisins
Pour 1 cup of the oat mixture into the jar. Pack down the layer with a laddle.
Sprinkle raisins into the jar to create a thin layer.
Continue adding oats and raisins alternately until all ingredients are used and your jar is full and very pretty.
Seal the jar.
To Prepare:

Pour boiling water over the oatmeal mix and stir. Let stand a couple of minutes until thickened to desired consistency.
Microwave Method:
Stir oatmeal mix and water together in a large microwavable cereal bowl. Microwave for 1 and 1/2 minutes. Stir and microwave for 1 minute more. Let it stand for 1 minute before serving. Top with a splash of milk and enjoy!

I make this as a gift to MYSELF - sames me money / taste better than Quaker. I also add 1/2 cup chopped walnuts.
