Easy Banana Date Oatmeal

- 1 cup quick oats
- 1 1/2 cups low-fat milk
- 1/8 cup brown sugar
- 1 banana - sliced
- 5 fresh dates - pitted & chopped
- 1 tablespoon butter
- 1/4 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 dash of salt
How To Make Easy Banana Date Oatmeal
Melt the butter in a saucepan over medium heat and saute the bananas until they begin to turn golden brown. Add the oats, dates and milk. Allow this mixture to come to boil and immediately reduce heat to low.
Cook on low - stirring occasionally - for 5 minutes or until you reach desired consistency. Stir in the brown sugar, vanilla and a dash of salt. Remove from heat and serve. Makes 2 or 3 servings.
Tastes just like banana bread! For an interesting brunch idea - this is excellent with a scoop of vanilla ice cream on top!
