Meat Lovers Quiche
(4 servings) Printable Version
- 1 pound ground sausage
- 1 small onion
- 10 strips of bacon
- 1/2 cup chopped bell pepper
- 2/3 cup cream
- 2/3 cup milk
- 4 large eggs
- 4 ounces sharp cheddar cheese
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
- 1 ready-to-fill pie crust (9 or 10 inches)
Cut bacon into 2 inch squares and fry until crisp. Drain. Saute peppers and onions, drain. Beat eggs with cream and milk. Add salt and pepper. Scatter half the cheese in bottom of pie shell, cover with bacon, onions, and peppers.
Layer sausage balls next. Scatter the rest of the cheese. Gently pour egg mixture into shell over meats and cheese.
Bake for 25 to 30 minutes at 350 degrees.
If you love sausage and you love bacon, you're gonna love this quiche. I like to use Cheddar cheese but you could use Pepper Jack or any favorite cheese.

I used milk instead of cream and increased the eggs to 5. Super good. Thanks.

Try adding hash browns as the crust instead of a ready made crust! It really completes the quiche.

It was really, really good. The pastry crust with the meat and cheese really works. I used more cheese than the recipe states. Real good.

Leave out the onion and bell pepper and just bown the sausage with the bacon instead of making sausage balls and boiling them.

My family just LOVES this recipe! My only comment is that it takes no less than an hour to cook, not 25-30 minutes.
