Banana Papaya Delight
(2 servings) Printable Version
- 1 banana
- 1/2 of a papaya
- 1 large scoop no-fat orange sherbet
- 5 ice cubes
- milk - if needed to thin consistency
How To Make A Banana Papaya Delight Smoothie
Mix all ingredients together in a blender. If the consistency is too thick, add a little milk and pulse until it's just right.
Pour into chilled glasses.
To Prepare a Papaya: 1) Cut it in half length-wise; 2) Discard seeds and use a spoon to scrape away the thin layer of pale flesh that encased the seeds; and 3) Use a spoon or ice cream scoop to scoop the delicious fruit as you would with a melon or an avocado - getting as close to the skin as you can without scooping any skin.
You could certainly use yogurt instead of sherbert if you wanted to. I like this drink for breakfast because the tropical flavors make me feel awake.

Papaya is a natural stomach soother. Drink one of these when you have an upset stomach (go light on the sherbert though)!
