Whip 'Em Up Wacky Waffles
(4 servings) Printable Version
- 1 and 1/2 cups biscuit baking mix
- 1 cup buttermilk
- 1 large egg - lightly beaten
- 1 Tablespoon vegetable oil
- 1/2 cup M&M's semi-sweet chocolate mini baking bits
- powdered sugar
- maple syrup
In a large bowl, combine baking mix, buttermilk, egg and oil until well mixed.
Spoon about 1/2 cup batter into hot waffle iron. Sprinkle with about 2 Tablespoons M&M's baking bits. Top that with another 1/2 cup of batter. Close lid and bake until steaming stops - 1 to 2 minutes.
Sprinkle finished waffles with powdered sugar and serve immediately with maple syrup and additional baking bits.
Kids love these! This recipe requires two specialty ingredients: a biscuit baking mix and M&M's Baking Bits. In lieu of the baking bits, you could use broken up bits of your favorite candy bar.

Opted out of the candy - added chopped bacon (cooked), sausage, cheese and a bit of scrambled egg. Turned out scrumptious. Thanks.
