C.W. Post
Introduced in 1974
This was granola-type cereal named after Charles William Post, the founder of Post cereals (original called Postum Cereals).
C. W. Post cereal was available in two varieties - one with raisins and one without raisins. The taste and texture of the cereal was very similar to Post's 2008 cereal Honey Roasted Just Bunches!
Fans of C.W. Post cereal have also noted that cereals Oats & Honey Granola from Cascadian Farm and 100% Natural Oats & Honey Granola from Quaker come close to the spirit of the discontinued cereal.
In a mid-70's commercial, a TV spokesman said, "I feel good about serving C.W. Post to my family."
Company Description: Founded by C.W. Post, the company began in 1895 in Battle Creek, Michigan under the name Postum Cereals. Their first product was a coffee substitute called Postum. The first breakfast cereal to come from the company was Grape-Nuts in 1897... Read on and see all cereals from Post

Maybe it was not healthy? Otherwise why discontinue it? I just tried Honey Bunches of Oats and found a kind of similar taste. Miss the CW Post though.

It was absolutely my favorite. My best friend, whose family weren't cereal eaters, would always have a bowl when he came by my house, day or night. He was fascinated with it. I agree with everybody else here. Please bring it back!

In the era of fruit and nuts grain cereal, one cannot find this. Too bad. The TV commercial will be with me until I die. 'Everybody loves it, even the kids. Pardon my son... that's mine!'
