In a medium shallow bowl, mix together the cream, eggs, sugar and vanilla.
Dip bread slices into egg mixture, coating both sides generously.
On a griddle or skillet at medium heat, melt butter or margaring and cook each slice until both sides are golden-brown. You can place completed French Toast slices on a serving plate in an oven set to 100 degrees -- to keep finished slices warm as you cook the others.
Serve with either butter and maple syrup; or seasonal fruit and whipped cream (I love bananas!)
This is a perfect breakfast-in-bed thing to serve if you want to make sure you get some sugar from your sugar:)

This morning I woke up and I had my craving for french toast but I didn't want the normal plain french toast. So I goggled french toast and came across your Vanilla cream french toast so I made it this morning and I was the last one to eat everyone in the family loved it. My nephew ran into the kitchen and said "that was the best breakfast I have ever had." Thank you for posting your recipe.
