1 can (8 oz) crushed pineapple in natural juices - undrained
1/2 cup chopped walnuts
Preheat oven to 400 degrees F. Fill 18 muffin cups with papers or cooking spray.
Combine the first 7 ingredients in a bowl (all the dry ingredients) in a bowl. Combine the egg, oil, molasses, buttermilk and pineapple. Make a well in the center of the dry ingredients, and pour the wet mixture in the well. Mix until well moistened.
Fill the muffin cups two-thirds full with batter. Bake at 400 for 12 minutes until golden brown. Serve warm.
