The recipe had been changed again... Looks like they went back to the "orignal" - 1g sugar, no corn.

My eagle-eye wife caught the ingredient change on the purely-O's box. Which is pretty impressive on my wife's part since NOTHING else on the box changed except the copyright date (and the ingredient list). We bought (past tense) purely-O's for our (now 4 year old) son as we were trying to bring him up not so dependent on sugar. We returned the the offending boxes, even the opened one in hopes to impress upon the retailer as to the offensiveness of Cascadian Farm's hypocrisy. We started lurking at grocery stores all over the county and buying every box we could find with the 2008 copyright. Tragically our stash has now come to an end, we've open the last box of of real purely O's. Anybody have any suggestions or know of a stash of the real stuff? I'd be great if I could find a supplier in Akron, OH area, but I'd be willing to buy a case of it if you could prove that it's sugar free.
If anybody finds original recipe purely-O's, or an adequate alternative, please email me at cereal@nomademail.com
Thanks,
Bill

MrBreakfast really needs to update the product information for this cereal. It's not at all the same as the old product. The fact that they made this change without changing the packaging AT ALL even to say "new recipe" or something is just proof that they wanted to keep their old customers in the dark. Very shady business practice, please consider boycotting Cascadian Farms.

Have you all contacted Cascadian Farm? I don't know if it will make a difference, but you can register your complaint on their site or call or write them. You'll see quite a few complaints on their website. Also, there's a facebook group dedicated to spreading the word about the changed formula and asking fans to boycott the cereal and request the original formula back. http://tinyurl.com/y9hvo4b

Destroying this with new sugary formulation is a crime. This was the most important food item for my older boy until he was 2 years old. When traveling oversees, we regularly brought 3-4 boxes along. Could not live without it. What a shame!

Ditto on the previous comments. The new recipe tastes awful, and it's bothersome that they tripled the sugar content while keeping all aspects of the branding unchanged. I ended up feeding a fair bit of this crap to my toddler before I realized that it was a completely different product than the one I had previously vetted.

It is pretty awful now. My son eats them all the time but not anymore. They shouldn't be called "pure".

My kids turned their noses up to the new recipe with added sugar. I am very disappointed, especially since they didn't even advertise on the box that it is a new formula. I think this is false advertising. Shame on Cascadian Farms!

Couldn't agree more w/the 2 comments already submitted. For health reasons, I WAS very satisfied with Purely O's BEFORE CF changed the formula. I typically buy 3-4 boxes at a time. Just opened 1 of 4 boxes other day and noticed a physical difference in appearance. Then I tasted it; TOO, TOO sweet. Disappointed that add'l grams of sugar was added. Not a healthy cereal for me anymore. Will give other boxes away and will no longer buy Purely O's... unless CF reverts back to previous formula. CF doesn't offer any other options. What a shame!!! I really enjoyed this cereal at one time.
Very Unhappy Customer

The formula has changed since this review. There used to be no added sugar, so this was perfect for toddlers. It now has added sugar, tapioca syrup, and molasses, and the barley flour has been replaced with corn meal. It went from 1g of sugars per serving to 3g. It tastes very sweet. It's a completely different cereal.

This was great until they changed the recipe to include sugar. This was one of the few cereals around without added sugar and now its just one more cereal like the rest.
