This cereal is described on the front of the box as "honey-kissed whole grain cereal pillows."

The back of the box in 2009 had the following longer description:

"Our Honey Sunshine cereal is a simple pleasure that's sure to brighten your whole family's day.

"We begin with our heritage Seven Whole Grains milled into a hearty flour and combined with a blend of other wholesome ingredients. Our bite-sized delights are gently creased at the ends and baked up toasty and golden into puffy cereal pillows. They're then tossed with the perfect touch of naturally sweet wildflower honey for added crunch and taste that'll make you smile."

The following text is from a July 14, 2008 press release announcing the introduction of Honey Sunshine Cereal:

"In an effort to make it easy for families everywhere to jumpstart their day with foods they can feel good about, Kashi Company, the premier natural food products company, today debuted two new foods: Kashi Honey Sunshine cereal, a whole grain honey-kissed cereal, and TLC Tasty Little Cereal Bars, soft-baked cereal bars with a naturally sweet, real fruit center.

"'At Kashi, we're growing our family to please the many tastes of yours,' says Sarah Ceccarelli, senior brand manager and nutritionist for Kashi. 'Our new Honey Sunshine cereal offers a flavor the whole family will enjoy for breakfast or healthy snacking right out of the box.'

"Made with Kashi's signature Seven Whole Grains & Sesame blend, Kashi Honey Sunshine cereal contains a winning combination of whole grains and fiber. Made using snackable, crispy pillow-shaped cereal bites that are baked with just the right touch of naturally sweet honey, each delicious serving offers 20 grams of whole grains, more than one-third of the daily recommended amount*, and 6 grams of fiber."
