Double Dip Crunch
Introduced in 1992
"Dipped in honey! Dipped in Nuts!"
A coupon for for Double Dip Crunch referred to it as "the nutty, honey-sweetened cereal" and made the following points:
- A honey nut taste kids love
- Less sugar than most kids' cereals
- No preservatives
- Low in fat
- Honey nut taste with wholesome corn and rice
New Kellogg's Double Dip Crunch is dipped in two tasty flavors. Once in honey... mmmm... the sweet kind made by bees... and then in nuts... delicious honey and nuts... the best of both worlds. New Kellogg's Double Dip Crunch. Two delicious dips... one great taste... and part of a complete breakfast."
The side panel of one of the very first boxes gave a description of the cereal in a short essay titled "Balancing your kid's diet." Here's the text:
"A tough part of being a parent is achieving a balance between what your kids want and what you know is best for them. After all, kids aren't always excited by foods that are good for them. So here's some terrific news: Kellogg's Double Dip Crunch has a delicious taste your kids will love, yet has less sugar than most other kids' cereals. Plus, it's low in fat and has no preservatives. So let Kellogg's Double Dip Crunch be part of your kids' tasty, well-balanced diet. And give yourself a well-deserved break from the balancing act."
The ingredient list for the cereal (when first introduced) was corn, rice, brown sugar, peanuts, partially hydrogenated cottonseed oil, honey, salt, malt flavoring, baking soda, turmeric color and an infusion of assorted vitamins and minerals.
Please Note: We've listed this cereal as being introduced in 1992. This is based on having received one of the introductory boxes with a "Better If Used Before June 5, 1992" notation on the box. It is possible the cereal was introduced in 1991.

A great, crunchy, cereal with a delicious taste! No gimmicks, no marshmallows, no rainbow colored nonsense, just one of my all-time favorite cereals. What I wouldn't give to have this stuff back... I think we still have a pile of those free sports bottles around here, somewhere.

When I was pregnant with my oldest son, I ate this cereal all day long. I love the frosted one. I really wish they would bring it back.

Another good one from the early 90's. Not sure why they ever took it off the market.
