Frosted Bran
Introduced in 1991
This cereal was originally introduced as "Lightly Frosted Bran" with the word "lightly" in very small letters. It was described on the box as "lightly frosted flakes of whole wheat and wheat bran plus corn." The box declared that it had "amazing taste" and was "fat free!" Later, the word "lightly" was dropped from the name.
The cereal's slogans were "goodness and great taste just got together!" and "crunchy and so delicious!"
Here's a description of Frosted Bran from a 1992 cereal box:
"Kellogg's Frosted Bran has a delicious taste both adults and kids will love. It's a delicious kind of flake made with whole grain wheat and corn plus light frosting to make it extra crispy. And because Kellogg's Frosted Bran is so sensibly nutritious, you can feel good about serving it. Kellogg's Frosted Bran. Great taste, nutrition and terrific family reviews."
The box that we were lucky to receive has a Free Glider cut-out on the back of the box. The back panel is titled "Fly With The Cast Of (NBC's) Wings And Get Your Free Glider!"
The ingredients listed in 1992 were whole grain wheat and wheat bran, sugar, corn, corn syrup, salt, malt flavoring, color added and a smattering of vitamins and minerals.

Loved this cereal. I was 19 at the time it was released and I remember being at my grandparents house and my grandpa wanting me to try them. Back then I thought this was just 'old people' cereal lol. After one bowl, I was hooked and went out that same day and bought a box for home. I ate this stuff daily up until Kellogg's discontinued it. I wish they would bring it back.

I grew up on this cereal. It would be the only cereal my mother and I would eat. I periodically look for it. I've even looked on amazon for this cereal. Kellogg's - definitely bring this cereal back and soon!

Just remembering this cereal... it was a favorite of mine until it left the shelves. Currently, and before it came out, I would mix a bran, which now is All-Bran, and Frosted Flakes. Doesn't really compare with Frosted Bran. Please bring it back.

Please bring back Frosted Bran! It would make so many people happy! I have tried numerous other bran cereals and nothing can even compare to the ultimate... Frosted Bran!
