The complete name of this cereal was Cap'n Crunch's Chocolatey Crunch. It was described on the box as a "naturally & artificially flavored sweetened corn & oat cereal" that was "made with real cocoa!"

When it was introduced the back of the box described the product like this:

"The Cap'n has been busy in his test kitchen again! This time, he's cooked up a decadent delight called... Chocolatey Crunch! If you like chocolate, you'll love this crunch. Nobody knows how big a batch the Cap'n baked up of this chocolatey treat, so get your hands around a bowlful ASAP!"

Instead of just making a plain chocolatey cereal, it's like they took regular Cap'n Crunch and added chocolate to it, which (to me) results in an almost chocolate-banana-ish flavor. WTH?? Guess I'll be sticking to Cocoa Puffs and Cocoa Krispies.

Chocolatey Cap'n Crunch is just okay. For a better kind of similar cereal... Chocolate Lucky Charms is AMAZING!
