This limited edition cereal began appearing on store shelves in the fall of 2013, just in time for the upcoming holiday season.

It consisted of red, white and green sweetened rice cereal pieces flavored like sugar cookies. The box featured the Flintstones characters Pebbles and Bamm-Bamm dressed in winter clothes and Dino dressed as a reindeer (on the front of the box) and as a snowman (on the back).

A coupon for Pebbles cereals ("Save 75 Cents") could be found inside the box.

The back of the box had a panel titled "Share The Season With Scrumptious Snowflake Treats" which included a recipe for star-shaped bars similar to Rice Krispies treats. That recipe follows below...





Snowflake Treats
(Prep Time: 8 minutes. Makes: 24 servings.)

1/4 cup (1/2 stick) butter or margarine
1 package (10.5 ounces) miniature marshmallows (6 cups)
1 package (11 ounces) Pebbles Sugar Cookie Flavor Cereal
Decorations such as frosting, icings, gels and assorted candies

Line a 15 x 10 x 1-inch pan with foil; lightly grease foil.

Microwave butter in a 4-quart microwavable bowl on high for 45 seconds. Add the marshmallows and toss to coat. Microwave for 90 seconds or until marshmallows have melted (stirring once midway).

Add cereal and mix well. Press cereal mixture firmly into prepared pan.

Allow mixture to cool and then cut into assorted shapes with holiday cookie cutters.

Add decorations as desired.

Caught it once around Christmas time. Went back two days later for more and the entire shelf was gone. Only regular Fruity and Co-Co Pebles. They we're sogood! Tastes just like sugar cookies! Hope to see this become a regular flavor! At least every holiday season! Best new cereal I've had in a long time!

I have always loved any of the Pebbles varieties. This one is no exception. I still have half a box in the cupboard. I am gluten free, so when I eat this with vanilla soy milk it tastes similar to rice crispy treats cereal that I can no longer eat. Good stuff.
