The complete name of this cereal is Kashi Organic Promise Sweet Potato Sunshine. It's described on the front of the box as being "organic rice, wheat and sweet potato flakes with cinnamon and a hint of molasses." Additional text encourages consumers to "delight in the goodness of Sweet Potato Sunshine. Hearty flakes of organic rice, wheat and sweet potato baked with hints of molasses and cinnamon deliver a deliciously sweet crunch."

The back of the box includes the following text: "Buried in the sandy soils of Mike Hocutt's Eastern North Carolina farm lies the key ingredient to the next generation of breakfast cereals: organic sweet potatoes. Baked into a whole grain flake with a hint of molasses, this cereal packs a delicious crunch (that is) packed with the antioxidant beta-carotene.





The ingredients list is wholesome and short: brown rice, hard red wheat, dried sweet potato, dried cane syrup, sea salt, cinnamon, molasses and vitamin E.

Between these and some other cereals, especially Manischewitz's Passover creme-puffs, there's a delightfully different, bold-yet-fitting, flavor to cereals made of potato and potato flour. Here, the taste is so comforting, I have immediate thoughts of time in the Allegheny Mountains in the fall. :-)
