Introduced in 2016


This cereal began to appear in stores in January of 2016 - two months before the scheduled March 2016 release of the film Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice. At the same time this cereal was introduced, General Mills also gave us Batman Chocolate Strawberry Cereal as part of the same movie tie-in.





The Superman cereal has tan pieces in the shape (roughly) of the shield on Superman's uniform. The Batman cereal has brown pieces in the shape (very roughly) of a bat.

Both cereals feature Batman (portrayed by Ben Affleck) and Superman (portrayed by Henry Cavill) facing off on the back of the box. Between the face off, the Superman cereal has a "see which super hero you know best" quiz while the Batman cereal has a "who's your hero" appeal to mention the movie on Facebook.





This is not the first Superman Cereal to be produced. In 2006, Quaker gave us both Life: Superman Returns Cereal and Superman Crunch Cereal. It's also possible that Post produced a cereal called Superman Stars, but we've yet to verify that cereal.

I already miss this cereal. Never got to try it until I found a single last box. My heart, it is crushed. This cereal was the best thing I ever put in my mouth.

I was buying two boxes every two weeks until today 8/10 when I went to Market Basket in Biddeford, Maine and the employee said it was discontinued. Very disappointed if it has been discontinued. Am going to check at Target and Wal-Mart to see if they still have it in stock. I eat it for snacks too. Just love it.

I love this cereal! It has a very great caramel flavor and definitely makes your milk taste like caramel!
