Banana Nut Crunch
Introduced in 1994
"Home baked taste in your cereal bowl."
When first introduced, boxes of this cereal indicated that it was an "excellent source of whole grain" that was "inspired by the taste of home-baked banana nut bread."
When this cereal first came out, a television ad showed a woman in an apron baking banana bread. This is what she had to say about the cereal:
"I'm about to introduce you to a brand new cereal. But before I show you want it looks like, I'd like to show you what it taste like (cut to banana bread)... home baked banana nut bread. If you'd like a slice of this, your gonna love a bowl of this (cut to cereal box)... new Banana Nut Crunch Cereal... real banana baked into crunchy oat clusters and crispy wheat flakes with chopped walnuts. New Banana Nut Crunch from Post... for home baked taste in your cereal bowl."
Around 2012, Banana Nut Crunch became part of Post's Great Grains line of cereals.
Above, you can see how the cereal appeared in the fall of 2015. At that time, it was described on the back of the box like this:
"Why less processed? Quite simply, because it's good for you! We gently crack the whole wheat berry and add a mix of grains to our flakes, while some of the competition add artificial sweeteners and flavors along with isolated fiber to their flakes. We then add in nutritious fruits and nuts and balance them with our grains for a great taste that's irresistible. The result? A crispy, delicious, less processed whole grain cereal that's high in natural fiber.
"Banana Nut Crunch... Our delicious flakes, made with whole grain wheat, barley and oats are combined with real bananas baked into multi grain clusters and scoops of wholesome walnuts and almonds."

My daughter loves this cereal and heard it was being discontinued & hopes they get enough people to keep making this cereal! I would like to know if they have any coupons for it so I can afford to buy as many as I can for her please! I am on food stamps & would be so grateful as she is such a picky eater & the only cereal she will eat! Thank you!

This is my favorite cereal. I like the crunch of it, plus the banana taste. I'm nuts for it. I'm bananas for it too.

It's been over 20 years since I last tasted this cereal (haven't been able to find it in stores since then), but I've never forgotten it. It's easily one of my favorites.
