Introduced in 1998


This cereal was only available in Canada. It was sweetened with real Canadian maple syrup. When it first came out, billboard ads tried to define it as uniquely Canadian by showing the Canadian flag with a box of the new cereal in place of the red maple leaf.

At one point, Post issued 7 different boxes at the same time, a "collectable set of Wayne Gretkey's 7 greatest moments."

We know the cereal was still in production in 1999. We're still trying to track down when it was discontinued. If you have any information, please post a comment below.

I think Maple Crunch Shreddies is the BEST cereal of all time. Good enough to drive to Canada and stock up on a trunk full.

This was my favorite cereal of all time. The last time I remember buying it was 2001, though I may have bought some in 2002 also (just don't remember that year as well). I don't think I saw it after that. I don't buy regular Shreddies anymore - they just can't compare to the maple.
