Introduced in 1959


This cereal was promoted with the lines: "Feel your oats" and "Tastes like oatmeal cookies." A 1959 newspaper ad called it "the first flakes made with oats (most nutritious grain of all!)."

Company Description: Founded by C.W. Post, the company began in 1895 in Battle Creek, Michigan under the name Postum Cereals. Their first product was a coffee substitute called Postum. I've been searching in vain for Post Oat Flakes. Absolutely the best. Post makes many fine products but this was my personal favorite.

I can not believe they stopped making this cereal. It was by FAR the best cereal ever. I wish I could see the ingredients list today because I would love to know just why it was so delicious.
