Introduced in 1909
In 1955, Quaker Puffed Rice and Quaker Puffed Wheat cereals offered one of the most popular cereal premiums of all time. In association with the Quaker-sponsored radio serial, The Challenge of the Yukon, cereal eaters were offered the chance to own "the deed to one square inch of Yukon land". Twenty-one million packages of the puffed cereals were sold, each containing a deed for a small piece of the Canadian territory.
Unfortunately for anyone holding a deed today, Quaker lost ownership of the land to the Canadian government because of the company's failure to pay $37.20 in property taxes. Fortunately, those deeds are worth more on eBay as memorabilia than they ever were on the property market.

When you are over 65, a non-smoker and need something to eat that won't run up your blood pressure or send you into a diabetic comma... Puffed Wheat was perfect. I have been eating it since 1970. Please bring it back, please. (Walmart/Amazon online, maybe)

Does Quaker no longer make Puffed Wheat? I can no longer find it in any of the stores I visit in SC or MA.

I live in Chicago Illinois and I haven't been able to find Quaker Oats or Rice in any stores for years. I had my sister buy it for me at Strack & Van Til in Indiana. Now it seems they discontinued selling it. I am Sooooo SAD, please bring it back.

Okay, guys. I'm another person who wants the Quaker puffed rice and wheat here in Indiana. At least put something in print about it. Or maybe I'll try calling a representative to find out what craziness took it off the shelves all over America.

I don't understand how they made this cereal so hard to find. Is it because it is better nutritionally? As opposed to all the unhealthy cereals they produce.

I live in Hamilton, Ohio. Cannot find Quaker Puffed Wheat on any store shelves. SO SAD. Where can I find it? Bad move, not cool, to take it off the market!
