Bill & Ted's Excellent Cereal was introduced by Ralston in 1990. It was a promotional tie-in for Bill & Ted's Excellent Adventures - The Animated Series. The animated series lasted only 21 episodes over 1990 and 1991. It was based on the successful film Bill & Ted's Excellent Adventure starring Keanu Reeves and Alex Winter.
The cereal was promoted on the box as being "a most awesome breakfast adventure." It consisted of cinnamon-flavored toasted oat squares and marshmallow pieces shaped like musical notes.
Among the give-aways included or attached to the cereal were Hysterical (Not Historical) Postcards, Time Travel Luggage Tags, Dial-A-Dude phone number organizers and plastic cassette cases meant to look like the telephone booth the duo used as a time machine.
One box featured a contest to "Win a Real Phone Booth for your room."
The top 2 ingredients in the cereal were oat flour and marshmallows.

These characters first appeared on screen in the motion picture Bill & Ted's Excellent Adventure in 1989. Their movie adventure and most of their subsequent animated adventures dealt with the clueless, slacker duo traveling back in time to meet historical figures.
Keanu Reeves and Alex Winter - the leads in film - portrayed the voices of the characters in the first season of Bill & Ted's Excellent Adventures - The Animated Series. During season 2, the characters were voice by Evan Richards and Christopher Kennedy.
The 1991 commercial for Bill & Ted's Excellent Cereal was not voiced by Reeves or Winter. It is unclear whether Richards and Kennedy provided the voice-overs.

Gosh, I can't even 'remember' having this cereal. All I know is having one of the little phone booths. Strange, looking back, how they were molded in blue plastic... almost as if it were leading me straight to 'Doctor Who' and his TARDIS.

Not sure how I missed this cereal from when I was a kid. I loved the movie too. Feel cheated to have missed this cereal. Very heinous.

I kept paper clips and erasers in the little plastic phone booth box that came with this cereal. I don't know what happened to it. I miss it.
