Total
Introduced in 1961
- Total Cereal is known for making bold comparisons to other cereals to show that Total contains 100% of many vitamins and minerals. Their most famous ad campaign showed bowls of competing cereals ridiculously stacked to indicate how many of servings were required to match the nutritional profile of a single serving of Total. Currently, you can visit TotalCereal.com to see side-by-side comparisons of Total's nutritional panel to those of many other cereals.
According to General Mills, "Total was the first cereal to contain 100% of the minimum daily requirements for 8 vitamins, as recommended by the U.S. Government, representing a major advance in cereal vitamin fortification."
The back of one of the very first boxes gave this this description:
"No other leading cereal has the vitamin content of 'total'
"Just one bowl - one ounce - contains 100% of every minimum daily adult vitamin requirement established to date. What better for breakfast for the whole family!
"'total' is delicious, too! Every crispy spoonful has deliciously toasted whole wheat flavor - flavor everyone will enjoy. And every crunchy bowlful is satisfying for breakfast - light but substantial."
Company Description: Officially created in 1928, General Mills traces it's history back to the 1860's and the ownership of two flour mills. Since then, the company has become the world's 6th largest food company - marketing to over 100 countries... Read on and see all cereals from General Mills

Just finished a box and it is still enjoyable. Wish they still had the corn flake version.

I've always preferred Total. Of all the cereals out there, this is the only one where I know I feel a little more energized in the early afternoon because of it.
