Wackies was an oat cereal with banana flavored marshmallow bits. According to television ads, it consisted of "banana bingles, banana jangles, oat gloops, oat glots and lots more wacky shapes".

TV commercials referred to the cereal as "Banana Wackies" while the title on the box simply read "Wackies".

One of my earliest memories is of Wackies (I'm 47). I remember demanding them when I was in the hospital at 18 months old (a traumatic memory like that stays with you forever.) For years when I asked about Wackies everyone (including my 5 older siblings) thought I was crazy and made it up! Thank you for proving me sane.

I am so glad that Wackies did NOT appear in my area because I am not a banana fan (natural OR artificial flavor).
